==> #1 Memory Foam Mattress

See how the DreamCloud stacks up against other hybrid bed mattress!

The DreamCloud includes an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a tremendous 15 inches. The eight-layer building is broken down into foam and covered coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and a lot of comfy pressure relief.

Provided all the various products at play here, I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they engage with one another.

DreamCloud Cover

Cover– The cover is comprised of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.

Foam Layers– Listed below the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of foam. While these areas are soft to the touch and provide some rewarding sinkage, they likewise respond rapidly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress.

The middle of these three layers is particularly crucial for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s consisted of perforated latex foam. Latex in basic is terrific at dissipating heat, so the addition of these small ventilations encourages even more cooling.

Pocketed Coils– The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support area of the mattress, which is comprised of a pocketed coil system. These separately covered springs give the bed exceptional bounce and aid to distribute movement throughout the structure.

The coils also aid in managing temperature level as the spaces between them enable stable air flow.

Foundation Layer– A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the primary function of nestling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the whole.

After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started by using light hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and leading layers.

My hand sunk into the material and I might feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pressing in further, I began to communicate with the stolen coils listed below and experienced an enjoyable lift from the springs.

Pushing into the DreamCloud mattress

At this point I ‘d like to note that people of various body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the total firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted 3 other individuals to provide their viewpoint. This will provide you a better sense of the firmness range you can get out of the mattress.

DreamCloud Firmness Test

Showing the firmness ratings of the DreamCloud from 4 testers

As you can see in the graph above, the testers were practically in arrangement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, providing it an average ranking of 7.75. Compare this to the market requirement of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this mattress is pretty firm.

I personally provided the bed a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it’s absolutely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually covered coils in the core will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.

Rather than simply describing the feel of the dreamcloud mattress reviews to you, I wished to give a visual representation of where somebody might feel pressure points form while pushing it. To do this, I positioned a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

Back– As soon as on my back, my weight was uniformly dispersed across the mattress, so I didn’t seem like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover offered quality relief at my back region and the taken coils helped to raise me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.

Side– As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I still felt supported and the leading foam layers eased what discomfort I felt in this position.

Stomach– Changing over to my stomach, I believed the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I had the ability to shift throughout these positions with relative ease.

If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll need to know what it’ll feel like when the other individual crawls out of bed in the early morning or tosses around in the evening. This next test is planned to demonstrate the intensity of movement that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other.

To highlight this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disruption it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.

Results for the movement transfer test with a 10 pound ball dropped from heights of 4, 8 and 12 inches.

The DreamCloud reveals a percentage of disruption for the 4 inch drop, which replicates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal a little larger spikes, I ‘d still consider the mattress to be pretty good at separating motion, thanks to the individually covered coils. This means you’re not most likely to be too disrupted by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, that makes this a fantastic choice for couples.

When buying a brand-new bed, the majority of people need to know whether they’ll seem like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of differing sizes and densities (a 6 lb conditioning ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound conditioning ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and determined what does it cost? they compressed the surface.

The variations in size, weight and density are suggested to mimic different body parts and various sized sleepers.

DreamCloud Sinkage Test

The sinkage test on a DreamCloud mattress with balls weighing 6 pounds, 10 pounds, 50 pounds and 100 lbs.

6 lb conditioning ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 pound medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel great support. This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, however will please back and stomach sleepers in specific.

If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be vital for you to think about the amount of edge support it’ll provide.

I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box bed mattress that cannot measure up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.

DreamCloud Edge Supprt Back

Resting on my back near the side of the DreamCloud

Resting on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I carried out in the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression since of the top foam layers, however nothing too significant.

DreamCloud Edge Support Side

Resting on my side near the edge of the DreamCloud

Moving to my side, I as soon as again noticed compression in the foam layers, however it didn’t carry over into the covered coil system listed below.

This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great task of supporting my weight.

DreamCloud Edge Support Seated

In this position, I wished to mimic what it would feel like to be resting on the bed in the early morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and preparing yourself for the day. A lot of foam bed mattress experience extreme compression in this position, however the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
