Dreamcloud mattress ratings Evaluation
I’m incredibly thrilled about today’s review due to the fact that I’ll be having a look at one of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as glamorous as it is helpful.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to determine its total comfort and identify exactly what kind of sleeper would gain from it most.

BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION
The DreamCloud includes an astoundingly high profile for a mattress at a massive 15 inches. The eight-layer building and construction is broken down into foam and covered coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stired to dive into these layers to see how well they communicate with one another.
Close up of the cover of the DreamCloud
Cover– The cover is comprised of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers– Below the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of foam. While these areas are soft to the touch and supply some rewarding sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you will not feel stuck in the mattress.

The middle of these 3 layers is especially crucial for the temperature level regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is terrific at dissipating heat, so the addition of these little ventilations encourages much more cooling.
Pocketed Coils– The bottom layer of foam shifts into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is comprised of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed exceptional bounce and assistance to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils likewise help in controling temperature level as the areas in between them allow for stable air circulation.
Foundation Layer– A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main function of nestling the stolen coils and supplying a sound foundation for the entire.

After taking a look at the building and construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I began by using light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers.
My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some immediate pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the stolen coils below and experienced an enjoyable lift from the springs.

Pushing into the DreamCloud mattress
At this moment I wish to note that individuals of various body types and shapes will feel firmness in a different way. Rather than offering just my viewpoint on the total firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their viewpoint. This will provide you a better sense of the firmness variety you can anticipate from the mattress.
DreamCloud Firmness Test
Revealing the firmness scores of the DreamCloud from four testers
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were basically in contract about the firmness of the DreamCloud, offering it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this mattress is quite firm.

I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a strong bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking from the luxurious foam top layers, the individually covered coils in the core will raise you out of the bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Instead of simply describing the feel of the dreamcloud mattress ratings to you, I wished to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while resting on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and pushed my back, side, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

Back– Once on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, so I didn’t seem like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover offered quality relief at my back region and the stolen coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in positioning.
Side– As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. I still felt supported and the leading foam layers reduced what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach– Changing over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great task of raising my hips up and out of the bed, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I ought to mention that I had the ability to shift throughout these positions with relative ease.

If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll would like to know what it’ll feel like when the other person crawls out of bed in the early morning or tosses around during the night. This next test is planned to demonstrate the intensity of movement that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To show this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disruption it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.

dreamcloud mattress ratings
The DreamCloud reveals a percentage of disruption for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and changing their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I ‘d still consider the mattress to be respectable at isolating movement, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This suggests you’re not most likely to be too interrupted by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, makings this an excellent option for couples.
When buying a brand-new bed, most people would like to know whether they’ll seem like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on the top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put 4 balls of differing sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb conditioning ball) on the mattress and measured just how much they compressed the surface area.
The variations in size, weight and density are implied to replicate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
DreamCloud Sinkage Test
The sinkage test on a DreamCloud mattress with balls weighing 6 lbs, 10 pounds, 50 pounds and 100 lbs.
6 pound conditioning ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb conditioning ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combination will attract a wide range of sleepers, however will please back and stomach sleepers in specific.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be vital for you to think about the amount of edge support it’ll supply.
I’m specifically interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the very same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box bed mattress that cannot measure up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring designs.
DreamCloud Edge Supprt Back
Resting on my back near the side of the DreamCloud
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I performed in the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the fact that of the top foam layers, however nothing too dramatic.
DreamCloud Edge Support Side
Lying on my side near the edge of the DreamCloud
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system below.

This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a terrific job of supporting my weight.
DreamCloud Edge Support Seated
Sitting on the edge of the DreamCloud mattress
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would seem like to be resting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and preparing for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, however the DreamCloud in fact held up relatively well.
