This bad combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as glamorous as it is helpful.

==> NECTAR vs DreamCloud Mattress

To see how well this hybrid measures up to that objective, I have actually put it through a series of tests to measure its total comfort and determine what sort of sleeper would gain from it most.

See how the DreamCloud compares to other hybrid bed mattress!

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly high profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer building and construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a company innerspring lift and a lot of comfy pressure relief.

Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stired to dive into these layers to see how well they engage with one another.

DreamCloud Cover

Close up of the cover of the DreamCloud

Cover– The cover is comprised of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.

Foam Layers– Below the cover, you’ll find 3 thin layers of foam. While these areas are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react rapidly to pressure, so you will not feel stuck in the mattress.

The middle of these 3 layers is particularly essential for the temperature level policy of the DreamCloud as it’s consisted of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is fantastic at dissipating heat, so the addition of these small ventilations encourages a lot more cooling.

Pocketed Coils– The bottom layer of foam shifts into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is comprised of a pocketed coil system. These separately covered springs offer the bed exceptional bounce and aid to disperse motion throughout the structure.

The coils also help in managing temperature level as the areas in between them allow for consistent air flow.

Foundation Layer– A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main function of nestling the taken coils and supplying a sound foundation for the whole.

After taking a look at the building of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I began by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers.

My hand sunk into the product and I might feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pressing in further, I began to communicate with the filched coils below and experienced an enjoyable lift from the springs.

Pushing into the DreamCloud mattress

At this moment I want to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness in a different way. Rather than offering simply my viewpoint on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted 3 other people to give their viewpoint. This will offer you a better sense of the firmness variety you can get out of the mattress.

DreamCloud Firmness Test

Revealing the firmness ratings of the DreamCloud from four testers

As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in contract about the firmness of the DreamCloud, providing it an average ranking of 7.75. Compare this to the industry requirement of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this mattress is pretty firm.

I personally offered the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it’s certainly a solid bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam leading layers, the individually covered coils in the core will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.

Instead of simply explaining the feel of the dream cloud mattress to you, I wished to provide a graph of where someone might feel pressure points form while resting on it. To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and rested on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

Back– Once on my back, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover supplied quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils assisted to raise me out of the bed and keep my spinal column in alignment.

Side– As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. I still felt supported and the leading foam layers reduced exactly what discomfort I felt in this position.

Stomach– Changing over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great task of raising my hips up and from the bed, which is essential for stomach sleepers. I should discuss that I had the ability to shift throughout these positions with relative ease.

If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to know what it’ll seem like when the other person crawls out of bed in the early morning or tosses around at night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the strength of movement that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other.

To show this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and determined the disruption it triggered: the bigger the lines, the larger the disruption.

The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disruption for the 4 inch drop, which mimics someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I ‘d still consider the mattress to be respectable at isolating movement, thanks to the separately covered coils. This means you’re not most likely to be too disrupted by your bed mate’s midnight vibrates, makings this a fantastic option for couples.

When purchasing a brand-new bed, the majority of people need to know whether they’ll seem like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on the top” of it. To envision this sinkage, I placed four balls of differing sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound conditioning ball, and a 100 lb conditioning ball) on the mattress and determined how much they compressed the surface area.

The variations in size, weight and density are indicated to replicate different body parts and different sized sleepers.

DreamCloud Sinkage Test

The sinkage test on a DreamCloud mattress with balls weighing 6 lbs, 10 lbs, 50 lbs and 100 pounds.

6 pound medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb conditioning ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll strike the covered coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast array of sleepers, however will please back and stomach sleepers in specific.

If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and have to use the entire area of the mattress, it’s going to be important for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll supply.

I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the very same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to measure up to the edge support of more standard innerspring designs.

DreamCloud Edge Supprt Back

Resting on my back near the side of the DreamCloud

Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the leading foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.

DreamCloud Edge Support Side

Pushing my side near the edge of the DreamCloud

Shifting to my side, I once again seen compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system listed below.

This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did an excellent job of supporting my weight.

DreamCloud Edge Support Seated

Sitting on the edge of the DreamCloud mattress

In this position, I wished to imitate what it would seem like to be resting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A great deal of foam bed mattress experience extreme compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up relatively well.
